Simply put, this rule states that all biblical passages are to be taken exactly as they read unless there is something in the text indicating that it should be taken some way other than literally. 2 Timothy 2:15 Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.
